#Cultures 2027: Event Rescheduled to April 2027

The organising institutions of #Cultures 2027 - International Online Congress of Studies on Cultures inform the academic community, partner institutions and prospective participants that the congress, originally planned for October 2026, has been rescheduled to 6-9 April 2027.
The decision was taken after a careful review of the financial and organisational conditions required to deliver the event with the scientific quality, accessibility and international reach originally proposed. The absence of sufficient external funding for the initial format made it necessary to reassess the congress structure, timeline and operational model.
Updated Congress Information:
- Event: #Cultures 2027 - International Online Congress of Studies on Cultures
- Previous period: October 2026
- New dates: 6-9 April 2027
- Format: 100% online
- Organised by: CLAEC and Scientia International
Why was the date changed?
The initial planning assumed access to financial and institutional resources that were not confirmed within the required timeframe. Rather than reduce the scientific programme or compromise the quality of participation, the organising institutions decided to postpone the congress and redesign its proposal.
The new schedule provides additional time to strengthen the international scientific committees, expand thematic and institutional partnerships, improve the digital infrastructure and organise the submission, peer-review, publication and certification processes more effectively.
A renewed congress proposal
The postponement is therefore not limited to a calendar change. It is part of a broader restructuring aimed at making #Cultures more sustainable, inclusive and internationally accessible.
The revised edition maintains the congress as a fully online event and reinforces its role as a permanent digital forum for research, pedagogy, artistic practice, critical reflection, institutional experience and public debate on cultures.
The renewed structure includes seven submission formats, eight thematic axes, open peer review, institutional and thematic-axis partnerships, digital proceedings with individual DOI for eligible works, and post-event publication opportunities.
What changes for participants?
The new dates extend the period available for preparing submissions, establishing partnerships and completing registration. Updated deadlines, participation rules and official calls are available on the congress platform.
- Registration and submissions open: 15 July 2026
- Final deadline for thematic-axis partnership proposals: 30 September 2026
- Final deadline for institutional partnership applications: 31 January 2027
- Final deadline for work submissions: 28 February 2027
- Congress dates: 6-9 April 2027
Commitment to transparency and quality
CLAEC and Scientia International recognise the importance of communicating this change transparently. The decision was made to protect the academic quality of the congress and to ensure that the event can be developed under realistic financial, technical and organisational conditions.
We thank the academic community, institutional partners and prospective participants for their understanding and continued interest in #Cultures. The additional preparation period will allow the congress to strengthen its international network and offer a more consistent and accessible experience.
