Registration

This page brings together the essential information you need before registering for #Cultures 2027, including participation categories, fees, discounts, author requirements, payment procedures and the benefits of attending the congress.

Registration is required for all forms of participation.

During account creation, participants must select the appropriate participation category: Author or Attendee.

Authors may submit a work while their registration payment is still pending. However, the submission will only be processed and forwarded to peer review after payment has been confirmed for every author and co-author linked to the work.

Registration payments are processed through PayPal. Participants eligible for a discount must request it by email before completing payment.

Participation Categories

Who Should Register, and Why?

#Cultures 2027 has two participation pathways. Select the category corresponding to the way you intend to participate in the congress.

Participation Category

Author

Select Author if you intend to submit a work, appear as a co-author or present an approved contribution.

Every author and co-author linked to a submission must create an individual account, select the Author category and complete their own registration payment.

The system permits submission while payment is pending. However, the work will only be processed and forwarded to peer review after all linked authors and co-authors have completed payment.

Each paid Author registration covers authorship or co-authorship in up to two submitted works.

Participation Category

Attendee

Select Attendee if you wish to participate without submitting or co-authoring a work.

Attendee registration provides access to the online congress programme, including keynote sessions, plenary discussions, thematic sessions and other scheduled activities.

Attendees may receive a participation certificate according to the congress attendance and certification rules.

Attendee registration remains open until 5 April 2027.

Registration Process

How Registration Works

1. Create an Account

Enter your personal, academic and institutional information using an individual email address.

2. Select a Participation Category

Choose Author when submitting or co-authoring a work, or Attendee when participating without authorship.

3. Select the Appropriate Fee

Select the fee corresponding to your current academic or professional profile and the applicable registration period.

4. Request a Discount, If Eligible

Before paying, send the required documentation to the congress email and wait for validation and payment instructions.

5. Pay Through PayPal

Complete payment through PayPal only after confirming the applicable fee or receiving discount instructions.

6. Registration Confirmation

Registration becomes confirmed after successful payment verification by the congress system.

Important for Authors and Co-authors

Submission and Payment Are Separate Steps

The congress system permits an Author to create an account, select the participation category and submit a work while payment remains pending.

Submission does not mean that the work has entered the scientific evaluation process.

A submission will only be processed and sent to peer review after the registration payment of every author and co-author linked to the work has been confirmed.

Attendee Participation

Why Attendee Participation Matters

Access to the Full Programme

Attendees may follow keynote sessions, plenary discussions, thematic presentation sessions and other online activities.

International Certification

Attendees may receive an international 40-hour certificate of participation, provided they attend at least 60% of the congress activities.

International Academic Immersion

Attendee participation provides access to current international debates in cultural studies without requiring submission.

Discounts

Discounts and Eligibility

How to Request a Discount

The congress registration system does not provide a public coupon field for automatic discount application.

Eligible participants must request the discount by email before completing payment. The organisation will verify the documentation and provide the appropriate instructions for completing registration.

Send the request to info@culturescongress.org with the subject: Discount Request - #Cultures 2027.

Research4Life Discounts

Participants affiliated with institutions located in countries classified in Research4Life Groups A and B may request the corresponding discount.

  • Group A: 40% discount.
  • Group B: 30% discount.

The request must include the participant's full name, registered email address, institution, country and evidence of institutional affiliation.

Institutional and Membership Discount

CLAEC members and participants formally affiliated with an Institutional Partner of #Cultures 2027 may request a 40% discount.

The request must include the participant's full name, registered email address and evidence of CLAEC membership or formal institutional affiliation.

The organisation may contact the partner institution or CLAEC to confirm eligibility before authorising the reduced fee.

Discount policy: discounts are not cumulative. When a participant qualifies for more than one discount, only the highest applicable discount will be granted. Participants should not complete payment before receiving confirmation of the discount request.

Author Participation

Author and Co-author Requirements

To Submit a Work

  • Create an individual account in the congress system.
  • Select the Author participation category.
  • Use the official submission template.
  • Select the thematic axis and submission format.
  • Complete the metadata and upload the required file.
  • Include every author and co-author in the submission record.

For the Submission to Be Processed

  • Every linked author and co-author must have an account.
  • Every linked participant must select the Author category.
  • Every linked author must complete the corresponding payment.
  • Payment must be confirmed by the congress system.
  • At least one author must be designated as presenter.
Works involving an author or co-author with pending or unconfirmed payment will remain awaiting validation and will not be forwarded to peer review.

Payment and Confirmation

  • Payments are processed through PayPal.
  • Registration is confirmed only after payment verification.
  • A registration with pending payment is not considered confirmed.
  • Discount requests must be submitted before payment.
  • Discounts are subject to documentation and eligibility verification.
  • Participants must select the correct category and pricing period.
  • Payments and registrations are individual and cannot be shared.
  • No refund is provided after registration confirmation.

Participation and Certification

  • The congress takes place entirely online.
  • Attendees must meet the attendance requirement to receive certification.
  • Authors receive certification after confirmed payment and approved participation.
  • Presentation certificates require the effective presentation of the approved work.
  • Only approved and presented works may be included in the proceedings.
