Congress Identity

Online by Identity, Not by Contingency

A Permanent Digital Forum

The online format is a structural element of #Cultures. The congress was conceived to operate internationally without concentrating participation in a single city, country or institutional centre.

Transnational Participation

The digital environment reduces geographic and financial barriers and makes it possible to connect participants from different regions, academic traditions and linguistic contexts.

Extended Scientific Circulation

Live activities are complemented by recordings, digital repositories, open access proceedings, individual DOI and post-event editorial opportunities.

2027 Central Theme

Cultures in the Reconfiguration of World Order: Conflicts, Mobilities and Pluralities in the 21st Century

The world order is undergoing a period of structural realignment. Regional conflicts assume global dimensions, multipolarity redefines alliances and hegemonies, migration and displacement intensify diasporic processes, digital technologies reorganise information regimes and symbolic economies are restructured on a planetary scale.

These processes are not only geopolitical. They are also cultural. They generate identity displacements, reconfigure heritage and territorialities, transform cultural policies and alter forms of belonging, memory and resistance.

#Cultures 2027 examines these transformations through critical, interdisciplinary and international perspectives, understanding conflicts, mobilities and pluralities as lived cultural realities that require diverse analytical frameworks.

How do cultures produce meanings, resistance and alternatives in contexts of conflict and instability?
How do human mobilities transform identities, territories and forms of belonging?
How do digital technologies reshape information, narratives and cultural practices?
What plural responses emerge from different territories in a changing world order?
How do memories, heritage and artistic practices respond to crisis and transition?
